As needed, sure, I'm open to new boards. Someone already suggested making a general /vr/ board, and I intended to add more for other oldschool shooter franchises as people expressed interest. I don't want to make boards no one will use, though.

What do you all want to see made?

For now, since posts are meant to stay on topic, I'd say a board for boomer shooters in general would be nice. Where else shall I post about some FPS from Eastern Europe that only 3 people know or care about?

There are communities of other old school shooters like Duke Nukem 3D and Marathon.

The only marathon communities I'm aware of are the pfhorums (which have dead registration iirc), and marathon story forum's forum, which is impressively running one of the most ancient pieces of forum software I've ever seen.

I'm not too familiar with the duke community, nor quake's.

Bear in mind I don't want to encourage anyone to go off just blindly link spamming other forums and making assholes out of us or anything lol.

Of course not. Spamming the doomchan link to various forums would be dumb.
I guess this should be done organically and slowly over time.

The biggest that comes to mind is forums.duke4.net

It has several, one of the active ones is Slipseer but similar to Doomworld in character (full of narcs and deviants)
Aside from Doom most of the classic shooters' communities are small or barely active. Kinda sad since these games offer a lot.

a general /vr/ board would be swell. just, please, keep the traditional cut-off point (i.e. no discussion of platforms released after the sixth gen). 4vr quickly dipped in quality when they changed this rule. i think adding any more dedicated boards could spread the userbase too thin, it's better to encourage generals.

Glad to see this board is up - would prefer if we had a /vr/ board for now since I haven't been playing any shooters lately and instead binging romhacks for Zelda 2, LTTP, & OoT. And Metroid Rogue Dawn + Metroid VITALITY.
